MİNİSTER KASAPOĞLU PARTİCİPATED İN THE 86TH GREAT ANKARA RACE

Giving the start of the 86th Great Atatürk Race, which was held on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of Atatürk’s arrival in Ankara, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu himself joined the race after giving the start.

Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu gave the start of the 86th Great Atatürk Race, which was held on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of Atatürk’s arrival in Ankara.

In addition to Minister Kasapoğlu, the President of the Turkish Athletics Federation Fatih Çintimar also attended the start of the race.

In his statement to the members of the press before the race that started in Dikmen Keklikpınarı at 14.00, Minister Kasapoğlu said:

“Running is one of the most important traditions of the athletics community. It continues to grow with an increasing interest every year, with the intense interest of our people and our youth. This year, 1733 people are participating in the race, which is a record. The previous 2 years were symbolically run due to the pandemic. This year, a record is broken again. I hope our efforts to spread sports to the grassroots will continue in athletics as in every branch. Our claim to the top will continue in athletics as in all branches”.

After giving the start, Minister Kasapoğlu himself joined the race.

The 10.8-kilometer run ended at Ankara Train Station. Cihat Ulus from TSK Spor Gücü in men and Burcu Subatan from Fenerbahce Sports Club in women came first in the race.
